Thanks for registering for our 5 Week Ballroom Workshop at The Dance Conservatory! This is a great opportunity for kids to come and try ballroom and see if it’s something they might like. (Our students that are already in ballroom are welcome to come as well, on a space-available-basis). We LOVE giving students this opportunity and we’re excited to get started! Read through the following information and let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to help.  Annette Thomas, Owner of The Dance Conservatory 208-589-0382

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, like warm up pants, levis, or longer shorts with a t-shirt and tennis shoes. If leggings are worn, they must have shorts or a skirt worn over them. And if any skirts are worn, leggings must be worn underneath. Girls, please pull your hair off your face and neck. A bun is preferred, if possible. Please, NO tank tops or spaghetti straps, bare stomachs, low cut blouses, or short shorts.

**If the weather is wet, please bring your tennis shoes with you and change shoes when you get to class. Thanks for helping to keep our dance floor clean.  🙂

You can bring a water bottle if desired. If you have a cell phone with you, we ask that it be silenced and kept in front by the sound system during class to minimize distractions.

For the safety of our dancers, we ask that everyone follows our parking/drop off/pick up procedure. As you pull into the driveway please stay to your right. You’ll pull around making a big counter-clockwise circle, so that when you exit the driveway you’re still staying to your right. Please drive slowly and watch for dancers. You can park in front of the studio or out in the field, but please don’t park in front of the garage or along the front grass.

We have an open door policy at our studio. Parents are welcome to come and watch their child’s class anytime they’d like. Please keep in mind, though, that dancers learn best when there aren’t a lot of distractions and when their focus can be on the teacher. Most of our dance parents don’t stay for class.

Workshop participants will be performing in our studio’s Spring Concert on Saturday, April 27th at Madison Junior High School 134 Madison Ave. Rexburg. The concert is at 7:00 pm with free admission. Everyone is welcome to attend!

DRESS REHEARSAL: We’ll have dress rehearsal during the day to set spacing on the stage. Everyone needs to be at dress rehearsal! We set an exact time for each class to rehearse on stage so it won’t take up your entire day.  🙂 We’ll assign times as it gets closer, but it will be around lunchtime for workshop participants. Watch for an email with the exact time.

CALL TIME: Workshop participants need to be back at 6:00 pm to set the bow with all the dancers. The concert begins at 7:00 pm and will end at approx. 8:20 pm.

WHAT TO WEAR: For the concert and dress rehearsal, workshop participants will wear their workshop t-shirt with blue levis (any brand) and tennis shoes. Girls will need their hair pulled off their face and neck in a ponytail or bun, and they’ll need to wear darker makeup so they can be seen under the bright stage lights.

WHAT CONCERT WILL BE LIKE: We make sure all of our costuming, music and choreography is modest and conservative. We like to keep it classy and fun! You won’t see any “questionable stuff” at our concert. Workshop participants will sit quietly in the back of the auditorium with their class until it’s their turn to perform. After they perform they’ll sit with their class until the end of concert when they’ll do the big group bow on stage.

We do all of our studio correspondence through email. Please watch for an email with dress rehearsal times, etc.

If you ever have questions, just ask! I can be reached by email, text, or phone. I’m happy to help.
