2022-2023 Class Dress Code - For class each week

Jr/Youth Teams, PreTeen Teams

BOYS

Blue team shirt
Black or charcoal-grey warm up pants, basketball shorts, or joggers

(please wear sports shorts underneath) (leggings are nice under basketball shorts)

Dance shoes
No hats, gum, Levis, or watches.
Please be freshly showered and wear antiperspirant. No cologne.
Phones must be left on the teacher’s shelf and silenced during class.
Please bring a water bottle with your name on it.
Dancers on back-to-back teams need to bring a sack dinner with them to eat between teams.

GIRLS

Blue team shirt
Black or charcoal grey bottoms. Options:

*Leggings (no cutouts above the knee) with pleated class skirt.
*Warm up pants, knee length basketball shorts, or joggers.
*If leggings are worn, a skirt or shorts must be worn over them.
*If skirts are worn to class, leggings must be worn underneath.

Dance shoes
Hair must be pulled up in a secure bun.
No big jewelry, hats, gum, Levis, or watches.
Please be freshly showered and wear antiperspirant. No perfume.
Phones must be left on the teacher’s shelf and silenced during class.
Please bring a water bottle with your name on it.

Cabaret (Lift) Team

BOYS

Black T-shirt, it’s ok if it has screen printing on it. (Blue team shirts are too slippery).
Black or charcoal grey warm up pants, basketball shorts, or joggers

No hats, gum, Levis, or watches.
Please be freshly showered and wear antiperspirant. No cologne.

Please eat a substantial/healthy meal before coming to team and bring a snack.

GIRLS

Black short sleeved leotard (Blue team shirts are too slippery)

(If sports bra straps show, please have them be black)

Black leggings (no cutouts above the knee, please).
Black pleated class skirt
Cabaret shoes
Hair must be pulled up in a secure bun.
No big jewelry, hats, gum, Levis, or watches.
Please be freshly showered and wear antiperspirant. No perfume.

Show Team (for dancers with special needs and their peer tutors)

T-shirt or school shirt – any color (no tank tops) or regular blue team shirt
Warm up pants, basketball shorts, or joggers

No hats or gum

Phones must be left on the teacher’s shelf and silenced during class.

GIRLS

T-shirt or blouse with pants or dress (no tank tops, spaghetti straps, or bare midriffs)
Or regular team dress code with blue team shirt etc.
Dance shoes
No hats or gum
Please be freshly showered and wear antiperspirant. No cologne.
Phones must be left on the teacher’s shelf and silenced during class.
Please bring a water bottle with your name on it.

2022-2023 Competition Dress Code

Jr/Youth Teams, PreTeen Teams

BOYS – SYLLABUS ATTIRE

White long sleeved church shirt. (Please make sure it’s ironed!)
Any color tie or bowtie
Latin pants
Black socks that come up your leg a bit (not the short no-show kind)
Dance shoes
Hair nicely done (is it time for a haircut?)
Wear your team jacket to the competitions

GIRLS – SYLLABUS and PERFORMANCE ATTIRE

Black leotard with sleeves (no tank or spaghetti strap)
Tan leotard
Tan bra with regular straps that don’t show
Tan tights
Jr/Yth girls also need fishnets over their tights
Black trunks
Black knee-length syllabus skirt
Dance shoes
Team earrings- that you’ll keep in your labeled bag in the team bin
Wear your team jacket to the competitions
Full stage makeup like we’ll show you at the hair and makeup class.

*Foundation, smokey eyeshadow, black eyeliner, black mascara, blush, team lipstick.
*Jr/Yth girls also wear false eyelashes
*We’re not as strict with how our girls with special needs on Show Team do their makeup.

Hair slicked into a low bun with a center part, no bangs. Secure with gel, hairspray, and bobby pins.

*At some competitions you can do different hairstyles for syllabus, we’ll tell you if you can.
*We’re not as strict with how our girls with special needs do their hair, but it needs to be in a bun.
